Interfolio for Letter Writers

Submit a Letter of Recommendation to Interfolio

Interfolio makes it easy to track and retain access to all of your letters.

If you have been asked to submit a letter of recommendation for an Interfolio user, you have two options:

Upload an Electronic Document at Interfolio.com:

  1. Create or login to your free Interfolio writer's account
  2. On the Write Recommendations page, enter the document id from the candidate's request form
  3. Browse for your document and upload it

or, Mail a Paper Copy of Your Letter to Interfolio:

  1. Print and sign your letter of recommendation
  2. Mail the letter and the candidate's request form to Interfolio (see address at right)

Upload your letter to take advantage of

Electronic letter submission
You can quickly and securely submit documents electronically to Interfolio on behalf of your students. It is immediately available for the student to use in the application process, saving time and limiting anxiety as deadlines approach!

Retain access to uploaded documents
You will have access to all letters you have uploaded into our system. Original documents may be easily retrieved so that you can edit and update them.

Increased fraud protection
As a security precaution, Interfolio does not receive documents via e-mail, nor do we allow unknown individuals to directly upload documents. Interfolio is also FERPA compliant and students cannot read the contents of confidential letters.

System security
Our system utilizes SSL encryption, and keeps stored documents secure and private. Digital backups are stored at a secure, off-site location to further protect important documents.
