Partnership with the Public Urban Research University will Streamline Processes for Faculty Promotion, Tenure, and Activity Reporting
Washington, DC — October 21, 2020 — Interfolio, creator of the leading Faculty Information System, announced today a new agreement with Maryland’s preeminent public urban research university—Morgan State University—to launch a new platform to provide a centralized resource to more effectively recognize and review faculty impact on campus. Through the partnership, Interfolio will assist Morgan faculty with directly showcasing their scholarly stories—encompassing teaching, research and service—with peers and administrators. Administrators will now be able to access comprehensive validated data about faculty achievements to inform annual reviews, career development, and strategic decisions.
“We are delighted to be supporting Morgan State in their strategic initiatives around innovation and transformation in becoming a top research institution,” said Andrew Rosen, CEO of Interfolio. “It is rewarding to be working with a thought leader that is taking action to empower their faculty to be a strong part of their strategic goals and success.”
Moving traditionally manual tenure and promotion cases online will save faculty and staff time while also allowing for consistent processes for promotion, tenure, sabbaticals, and faculty evaluations. With the combination of Interfolio Faculty Activity Reporting and Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure, faculty have a shareable record of their teaching and scholarship activities. This transparency enables Morgan State’s goal to support and develop faculty throughout their careers, whether mentoring tenure-track faculty, projecting faculty activities for the year, or highlighting past accomplishments.
“We recognize the centrality of faculty to our institution’s current success and our future goals, especially in regards to research,” said Patricia Williams Lessane, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, at Morgan State. “Interfolio is our best opportunity to make significant changes in innovation, transformation, and disruption. We are excited to further support our faculty, students, and community with this technology.”
