WASHINGTON, D.C., July 30, 2018 — Pepperdine University has partnered with Interfolio, provider of faculty-focused technology for higher education, to establish a digital solution to manage faculty data and workflows related to hiring, activity reporting, and review, tenure, and promotion processes.
Pepperdine, a prominent independent Christian university located in Malibu, California, adopted Interfolio’s Faculty Information System to enhance the collection and use of activity data, and to provide more standardization, transparency and equity for key lifecycle processes. Leaders at the University found Interfolio’s experience and success with campus-wide faculty implementations made them uniquely qualified to provide Pepperdine’s faculty with a superior user experience.
“One of the most important aspects to adopting new software programs for the University is ease of use. We ask: Will faculty and staff be able to implement it in a reasonable amount of time? How intuitive is it? Is vendor support readily available?” said Lisa Bortman, Associate Provost for the University’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness. “It’s been wonderful to receive the feedback from colleagues that confirms the system has been easy to adopt, is inclusive of all the features we need, and that Interfolio has provided comprehensive customer support.”
Additionally, Interfolio’s ability to support accreditation reporting was a key consideration for Pepperdine. “Specialized accreditations have become an increased priority for our undergraduate school and graduate schools due to the demand for specialized learning in higher education,” Bortman noted. “Interfolio’s accreditation compliance support was a critical factor in garnering University-wide buy-in.”
“Pepperdine University is an example of academic leadership using technology decisions that benefit faculty to achieve institutional success,” said Andrew Rosen, CEO, Interfolio. “We are excited about the opportunity to partner with a leading faith-based institution achieving its vision by supporting its faculty and key stakeholders.”
