Come meet us at the CUPA-HR 2018 Annual Conference and Expo!

Do you wish faculty hiring, promotion, and activity data reporting processes at your university could be more cost-effective and consistent?

At the CUPA-HR 2018 Annual Conference and Expo, we’d love to meet you, learn about your institution’s particular challenges, and share how we’ve helped with these administrative necessities around faculty members at our client universities.

For just one example, the Human Resources office at the University of Florida sought out Interfolio for a major hiring initiative after seeing a presentation at CUPA-HR from a different client institution.

By handling such administrative concerns more efficiently and transparently—and freeing up academic staff members’ time so they can focus on students or research—the human resources office can build a needed bridge between academic staff and institutional administration, and can help the university have a greater impact overall.

With over 275 client institutions throughout higher education, Interfolio leads the market in innovative development of technology designed specifically to benefit both institutions and their faculty.

Session: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Data Migration—a Case Study with ECU

In 2016, East Carolina University sought a user-friendly, innovative system for faculty activity reporting to replace their current technology. Although their requirements were straightforward—integration with institutional data and external bibliographic sources, flexible reporting functions, and faculty networking capabilities— the challenges of implementation demanded an organized, institutional-wide effort as well a strategic transition plan with their new partner, Interfolio. This presentation focuses on the good (capabilities gained from Interfolio’s robust, faculty-focused reporting platform), the bad (the pain of migrating legacy data), and the ugly (unexpected complications) of data integration so that other IR leaders can plan when implementing similar systems on their campus.

Presenters:

  • Joseph Thomas, East Carolina University
  • Ying Zhou, East Carolina University
  • Andrew Rosen, Interfolio
  • Melba Fey, Interfolio
