Ditching the Binder / How Sewanee Took Promotion & Tenure Online

February 25, 2016 / 2:00-3:00 PM EST

We speak with Elizabeth Skomp, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Russian and Associate Dean of the Faculty at Sewanee, The University of the South, about how they’ve improved their faculty promotion and tenure experience with Interfolio.

Interfolio’s Katherine Kelly and Zachary Ulm host the call, asking Associate Dean Skomp about things like:

  • What challenges at Sewanee prompted their search for a digital promotion and tenure process?
  • What new efficiencies (both hoped-for and unexpected) have been created in the transition to Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure?
  • What practical concerns did they encounter around adopting a centralized digital system on campus?
  • How has a central online platform improved the experience for Sewanee’s faculty and administrators

Thursday, June 27, 2019 / 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM EDT

In this exclusive webinar for Interfolio clients, we address an upcoming feature under construction in the Review, Promotion & Tenure module: committee forms.

The new committee forms option will make it easy to require, collect, and report on responses from individual committee members to standard questions as part of any academic review case. For many institutions, this functionality opens up the use of Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure to better accommodate reviews less oriented around candidate materials, such as annual/periodic reviews, merit reviews, and more.

In this webinar:

  • Get an introduction to this new feature coming soon to Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure
  • Hear some common, real-world scenarios where committee forms will be useful
  • Understand the intended stages for releasing this feature

This webinar took place in June 2019.

This training webinar, meant for Administrator users in Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure, introduces two upcoming changes affecting candidate packets:

  • Packet layout changes. We will be changing the visual layout of the candidate packet so that the administrator view and the candidate view will resemble each other much more closely.
  • Reusing past case materials. We will be adding the ability for an Administrator to pre-populate a candidate’s case with suggested materials pulled from that candidate’s past cases, which the candidate can accept, edit, or remove.

In addition to the new features, this webinar is a great opportunity to get a refresher on what the candidates will encounter, and how to manage that experience on the administrative end.

This webinar took place in October 2018.

The training covers topics such as the different user roles in Faculty Search, approval workflow, managing a search, reviewing and rating applicant materials, and properly closing a search. It is a fantastic opportunity to get a refresher of Faculty Search and a demo of the most recent functionality.
